Pakistan citizen in Indian Army; Calcutta HC orders CID probe

The Calcutta High Court has taken a significant step in the case related to the alleged recruitment of Pakistanis in the Indian Army. Justice Rajasekhar Mantha has expressed concerns about the possible involvement of Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, in this matter. In response to a filed case alleging corruption in army recruitment, the court has directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to register a complaint and initiate a thorough investigation.

The case revolves around the employment of two individuals named Jaikant Kumar and Pradyuman Kumar, who are alleged to be Pakistani nationals working at the Barrackpore Army Camp. It is claimed that they managed to join the Indian Army by using forged documents and passing the required government examination. The plaintiff behind the case believes that there is a larger network involved in these fraudulent appointments.

The court's directive to the CID to promptly receive the complaint signifies the seriousness with which the matter is being handled. The investigation will delve into the alleged recruitment process, aiming to uncover any irregularities and determine if there is any external influence, particularly from Pakistan's ISI intelligence agency.
